Abstract

One of the factors causing hypertension is food intake. Wrong diet is one of the risk factors that increases hypertension. By implementing a healthy lifestyle, you can lower blood pressure, prevent or delay the occurrence of hypertension, increase the effectiveness of anti-hypertension drugs, and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. The aim of this study was to see the knowledge of the community in the 1 Payanggar neighborhood regarding healthy living with a history of hypertension. .This research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were hypertension sufferers residing in Ward 1 Payanggar, Padangsidimpuan City. The sample in this study was 20 respondents. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. This research uses categories of good and poor knowledge with a significance level of 0.05. Results: this study shows that the P-value = 0.01 (P <0.05), with a total of 20 (100%) patients having a poor level of knowledge.
