Abstract

 

Difficulty eating is a problem in children that needs good attention by parents. Based on World Health Organization (WHO) data, it is recorded that around 33% of children experience a lack of appetite, the prevalence of child development problems in various American developed countries is 12-16% of several studies that have been evaluated which have an impact on failure to grow lack of appetite and even shorten life span. This community service activity is in the form of a demonstration of Tui Na Massage to mothers who have toddlers to increase appetite in Sigulang Village, Southeast Padangsidimpuan District in 2023 with 8 participants. Before the demonstration, participants were first given an explanation of the baby massage material and then demonstrated how to do a good and correct Tui Na massage using a baby phantom. This activity was carried out for ± 2 hours. After completing the Tui Na massage demonstration and conducting questions and answers to the mother, then the mother was asked one by one to repeat the Tui Na massage movements. The results of the evaluation of the Tui Na massage movement performed by the mother increased the mother's skills about doing Tui Na massage The mother was able to do Tui Na massage to her own toddler. Mothers who have toddlers are willing to apply Tui Na massage at home every day to increase appetite and encourage optimal growth and development of toddlers.
