Abstract

Efforts to maintain oral health and dental health and foster dental health, especially in school and pre-school groups, need special attention because at this age children are undergoing a growth and development process. The previous dental condition will affect the development of dental health in adulthood. Through counseling programs, it is hoped that it can increase knowledge and foster awareness of the importance of maintaining oral health and can actively participate in increasing self-care efforts. The purpose of this study was to provide knowledge to children about the importance of maintaining oral health. This type of research uses the method of counseling animated videos and dental models. In this counseling activity, participants actively participated in following the instructions given by the trainer so that this activity went well. So it can be concluded that video demonstration counseling and counseling with dental props are effective for use in increasing oral health knowledge in children.
