Abstract

Maternal mortality is a phenomenon during pregnancy and this can be caused by anemia in pregnant women. The causes of low birth weight babies, stunting, premature birth and even death can also be caused by mothers experiencing CED and anemia during pregnancy. The incidence of anemia during pregnancy is part of a national problem and can reflect one of the values of socio-economic welfare. In Indonesia, the incidence of anemia in pregnant women is around 70 percent. The highest incidence of anemia in pregnancy is Indonesia. Giving Fe tablets is one way to overcome the problem of iron deficiency anemia that occurs in pregnant women. Providing 90 Ferrum or FE tablets can be given to pregnant women during pregnancy. When carrying out community service, we check hemoglobin levels to find out whether anemia occurs in pregnant women and at the same time provide Fe tablets and folic acid. In carrying out this activity, I involved students and STIKes Darmais Padangsidimpuan students who were first given a briefing and asked permission from Purbatua Village. From the results obtained, of the 15 pregnant women whose hemoglobin levels were checked, there were 7 pregnant women who had anemia and 8 more people with normal hemoglobin. A hemoglobin level value of less than 11.5 g/dl in a pregnant woman is said to be anemia. Health workers need to monitor and evaluate pregnant women so that the incidence of anemia can be handled properly and can detect problems that occur in pregnant women.
