Abstract

Complementary foods are foods or drinks given to infants or children over 6 months of age that contain necessary nutrients in addition to breast milk. Breast milk can only fulfill two-thirds of a baby's needs. Additional food is needed that varies from liquid powder to thick porridge, fruit juice, fresh fruit, soft food, mushy food to solid food. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide education and training to mothers who have babies about breastfeeding and how to do proper breastfeeding. This activity was carried out on Wednesday 11 October 2023. The activities carried out increase mothers' knowledge about complementary feeding (MP ASI) through training in making MP ASI. This community service was carried out using lectures, simulation, discussion, and question-and-answer methods. The results of this community service were received enthusiastically by the participants as seen from the number of participants who asked about the material that had been given. It is recommended that training activities on making breast milk MP are carried out more often so that mothers know the timing of breastfeeding and can make breast milk MP appropriately.
