Abstract

Hypertension is widely recognized as a cardiovascular disease in which patients have blood pressure above normal. This disease is estimated to have caused an increase in morbidity rates globally by 4.5%, and the prevalence is almost as great in developing countries as in developed countries. The general objective of the study was to determine the level of patient compliance in taking antihypertensive medication at the angkolah sangkunur health center in South Tapanuli in 2023. This study used descriptive observational research methods with a cross sectional approach. In this study using all parts of the population which amounted to 243 Hypertensive Patients but for which the sample amounted to 37 respondents. Broadly speaking, compliance with taking medication for hypertension patients who are outpatients at the Sitinjak Health Center is good. This can be seen from the results of the study of 37 respondents, there were 12 respondents (32.4%) who showed high category drug compliance, then respondents with moderate compliance levels were 17 patients (45.9%). And there were respondents with a low level of compliance as many as 8 patients (21.6%).
